Automated Plug & Mould Production
Discover the complete automated process, from base milling to final finishing.
Step 1: Support Preparation
The lower substructure is prepared in its approximate shape and then covered with foam.
Step 2: Foam Milling
The foam is milled with an offset to account for the upcoming layers, making full use of the outstanding dynamics of the Anker-Tec machine.
Step 3: Paste Application
Anker-Tec offers the automatic application of epoxy or polyurethane paste onto the milled surface, optimizing both paste usage and process speed.
Step 4: Final Milling
The next stage is a high-speed, multi-axis finishing cut that gives the plug or mould its final shape and smooth surface. Not only are tight dimensional tolerances required, but more importantly, the shape is fully three-dimensional—this is why all five axes must work simultaneously to perform the milling. This is where the lightweight carbon fiber structure of the Anker-Tec machine, combined with its extraordinary speed and acceleration, reduces the processing time to at least one-third compared to a comparable machine.
Step 5: Sanding
Once cured, the surface is automatically sanded to ensure flatness and proper geometry before the final cut. The plug is now ready for inspection, surface treatment, and use in moulding operations — all with high repeatability.
Step 6: Finishing
The final step is cleaning and painting, which completes the process and delivers a flawless, ready-to-use plug or mould. This ensures the highest quality finish and immediate readiness for your production needs.
